Fleet Wrap Installation: What to Expect, Step by Step

Fleet Wrap Installation: What to Expect, Step by Step

Fleet wrap installation follows the same steps for every vehicle: review, design, print, prep, install and inspect. Each vehicle usually takes one to three days in the shop. What makes a fleet different is the planning, so every vehicle matches and your business keeps running while the work gets done.

Here’s what happens at each step when you wrap your fleet with Wraps For Less, and how to prepare your team.

Step 1: Fleet review and measurements

We start with a list of your vehicles: year, make and model, plus photos. We note anything that affects the install, like old lettering, dents, rust or peeling clear coat, and we measure each model so the design fits.

Step 2: One design, adapted to every model

Your logo has to look right on a Ford Transit, a Ram 1500 and a box truck. Our designers create the main layout, then adapt it to each model so door handles and body lines don’t cut through your logo or phone number. You approve a proof for each vehicle type before anything is printed. Our design and install guide covers what makes a design easy to read.

Step 3: Printing and laminating

Once the proofs are approved, we print the fleet on Arlon SLX Plus premium cast vinyl and add a protective laminate. Cast vinyl stretches around curves and recesses without pulling back, and the laminate protects the print from UV rays and light scratches. Printing the fleet together keeps the colors consistent from the first vehicle to the last.

Step 4: Vehicle prep

Vinyl only sticks well to a clean surface. Each vehicle should arrive clean and free of wax or polish. Rust or body damage needs to be repaired before installation, because these issues can delay the install date. If there are old graphics, we remove them first.

Step 5: Installation

Our installers apply the vinyl panel by panel, working it into body lines and around handles, mirrors and lights. Edges are wrapped and tucked so they don’t lift, and the vinyl is heated in recessed areas to lock it in place.

Step 6: Final inspection and pickup

Before a vehicle leaves, we check every edge and seam. At pickup, we go over care: hand wash with mild soap, keep pressure washers away from the edges and avoid automatic car washes.

How long does fleet wrap installation take?

Each vehicle takes from one day to two or three days, depending on its size and the complexity of the design. A box truck takes longer than a pickup with door graphics. For fleets, we can plan production to deliver as often as one van a day, depending on the design, so your business keeps running.

Does installation differ for full wraps, partial wraps and lettering?

The steps are the same, but the shop time isn’t. Cut vinyl lettering and partial wraps cover less of the vehicle, so they take less time than a full wrap. If you need vehicles back on the road fast, a common mix is full wraps on the vehicles customers see most and lettering on the rest. See our commercial wrap options.

How to keep your business running during the install

  • Wrap in rotation. Bring vehicles in a few at a time instead of all at once.
  • Plan around your busy season. A lawn care company may prefer winter. An HVAC company may prefer spring, before the summer rush.
  • Empty the vehicles. Remove tools, magnets and loose items before drop-off.
  • Pick one contact person to approve proofs and the schedule, so nothing waits on a reply.
  • Use our online drop-off and pick-up forms for each vehicle, so we always have the right contact and details.

Why professional installation matters

A poorly installed wrap shows it fast: bubbles, lifting edges and logos that don’t line up across the doors. In the Florida heat, those problems get worse and shorten the life of the wrap. Professional fleet wrap installation services cost less over time because the wrap lasts. We back our work with an installation warranty of up to one year, which most shops don’t offer.

Fleet wrap installation FAQs

Will the wrap damage my paint?

No. A properly installed wrap protects the original paint and can be removed later without damaging it.

Can you match our brand colors?

Send us your brand guide or color codes. We match them as closely as vinyl printing allows and confirm them with you before we print.

Do I need to remove my old lettering first?

Yes. Old graphics come off before the new wrap goes on, and we handle the removal for you.

Do you wrap box trucks and trailers?

Yes. We wrap vans, pickups, box trucks, trailers and food trucks, plus cars and SUVs for sales teams.
